What would happen if the o-zone layer disappeared?

Would we all be burned like ants under a magnifying glass? Like that scene in Terminator 2 where she goes to the playground. I'm not trying to make light of it, that scene just comes to mind when I hear people say the o-zone layer is getting thinner. Or am I completely wrong and off track? Which I have the feeling I am lol.

not really that dramatic. The bigger issue would be no protection against harmful radiation which would cause skin cancer, not counting Environmental issues

We're not just going to burn, the temperature wouldn't go that high.  Say the average earth surface temperature increased by 40 F.  That would not be nearly enough to cause people to randomly burn up.

It wouldn't be the end of the world, though it would make life certainly unpleasant.

The ozone layer attenuates light at certain wavelengths that turn out to be damaging to humans.  (UV)  Be very clear- all the energy is still coming from the sun, so there won't be any change in temperature.

The only difference is that the portion of energy that is normally rendered harmless by the atmosphere will strike the surface unchanged, causing skin tissue damage (sunburn and skin cancers)

It should be important to further point out that due to international bans on certain chemicals, the rate of ozone depletion is slowing.  As some of these chemicals may persist in the upper atmosphere fro decades, it will be some time before we see profound recovery, but in most areas, we're in pretty good shape.  Sorry, Aussies.

First of all, the ozone layer protects the Earth from harmful UV and Gamma radiation from the Sun. Those radiations cause great harm to humans. If the Ozone layer gets depleted, the radiations will find their way to the earth's atmosphere, and then to its all living and non-living things. This will cause cancers and inflammations, but it will not happen very fast.

IF O-ZONE LAYER DISAPPEARED, WE ALL OF THIS EARTH WILL DISAPPEAR.

If some burn in our skin make us uneasy to our Body. We are going to Docter for Treatment.

IF O-ZONE LAYER DAMAGED, WE ALL WILL DISPPEARED.

Following steps to be taken by all of us.

1. Use of Petrol/Diesel/Gas/Electricity to be reduced.

2.Burning of PLASTICS/RUBBER/THERMOCOOL  to be reduced.

3.Emission of Clrofloro Carbon in air to be Banned. If necessary Fine will be Charged.

4.Tree Plantation is good  to Store/Preserve for O-ZONE layer. Wherever place we have to do Tree Plantation.

5. Damage to Hill/River/Sea/Tree to be stopped.

6.Dumping of Carbage in River/Canal to be stopped. Because Rivers/Canal water do major role in keeping earth Cool and keeping Ground water.

The earth would become very hot, and we would not be able to survive.
