  1. It will never happen as the plants recycle our CO2 to O2 but the plants keep the C and later is converted into oil & gas. The plants are doing a great recycle job...

  2. I think your question is perhaps more to the point than you think.  If we LUCK fuels then we can go on living as we are.  However a far more likely scenario is where we will LACK fuels and then we'll be in deep p**p.

Whether or not oils are abiotic and whether or not we have yet reached peak oil production, we need clean bountiful alternatives to fossil fuels, and we need them fast.  The technology is already there; we just lack the willpower to implement them.

  3. disaster, huh?

    better goes for hybrid life

  4. I can't see how it's possible for the world to lack fuel.  As long as there is water, sun, plants and humans there will be fuel.  Just keep away from crude oil and nuclear power.

  5. If you are talking about gasoline as fuel it would be the best think that ever happened! First of all they can make cars that run without any gas admitting fuels. They just refuse to allow this to happen because of greed and power the have with it

  6. we are all fVcked

  7. We won't run out of fuels, higher prices will convince us to find other sources should we come close to running out.

In fact that is part of the problem, we are not running out of fossil fuels which means that we don't *need* to replace them despite the damage they do.  We've got enough coal for a few hundred years and whilst oil production does seem to be peaking there are a lot more resources around that we could use (including oil shale and tars) so we could expect to have a hundred years of oil left anyway.
