If there were no traffic lights or stop signs, do you think the majority of people would still treat intersections as four-way stops or just go right through them, risking accidents?

  1. Most of us would just go right through them.  Some of us would "SpeeD" through the intersection.  People would get confused mostly.

  2. I think that  alot of people would treat them like a 4 way stop.    Some people would just run them like they run stop lights becasue they don't give a da*n!!!!!!

  3. lots of smashes and accidents which would hold up the traffic even more cleaning up the destruction

  4. Death and even higher insurance rates.

  5. I would make lots of money cause i do bodywork ha ha

  6. People can barely drive as is. Removing traffic lights and stop signs would cause gridlock and cause an untold number of accidents.

  7. CHAOS

  8. I've been through enough sets of light during power outtages and mostly all people don't treat them as a 4 way stop and just fly through them.  I think we'd have total carnage.  I'll tell you I definately wouldn't drive.

  9. We would not be able to drive if we did not have traffic lights and stop signs.  In a world where impatience thrives, no one would yield the right-a-way; they would take it.  When we have this greed on the road, no one can drive.

  10. Depends which country you are talking about.

In Germany and in the Netherlands, some smaller cities have removed all traffic signs - with the expectation that drivers will be more cautious with other drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians.  And they were right - people drove with more care.

It depends on the general attitudes and maturity of the drivers.  If they have bad habits to begin with, removing signs will not improve their driving.

If you tried this in California, the body repair shops will be in 7th heaven - they would have so much business that you would need a 3-month reservation to get your wrecked car repaired.
