What would happen if we dident have a sun?

Let me put it simply.

We'd be utterly screwed.

Basically we'd all be very cold, and very dead. Of course the earth would eventually find something to orbit, that is if it didn't crash into something first...but by then it wouldn't matter cause there'd be no-one left to watch.

Earth wouldn't have formed, because there would have been no leftover dust and debris from our sun's formation to even make the planets in our solar system.  

Hence, none of us would be here.

well first of all, if there was no sun earth wouldn't have formed. if the sun had formed, and it just suddenly dissapeared, then a couple things would happen.

1. all life on earth would die, because there would be no sunlight.

2. earth would go out of orbit as well as all the other planets. the astroid belts would start crashing into other planets and eventually start orbiting different planets. earth would be bombarded by astroids.

3. earth would stay stationary, and eventually fall into orbit of jupiter if it got close enough.

4. earth wouldn't be considered a planet anymore because it wouldn't be orbiting a star.

5. earth, and all other planets in the solar system will continue to orbit the galaxy, and continue to cary out the "galactic year". all planets will eventually find other objects to orbit, such as stars, over a period of millions of years.

6. we wouldn't be around to see any of this because we would all die as soon as the sun went out because we would have no heat or sunlight.
