  1. if we didn't have the moon there wouldn't be any werewolves

    Laugh

    Out

    Loud

  2. As a matter of fact according to many scientists that will actually help slow global warming..jk...lol

  3. there would only be a small, solar, tide.

when the earth was new, it spun much faster, and a day was 9-10 hours long, instead of 24.

also, the moon was much closer to the earth.

gradually the moon absorbed some of the earth's rotational energy, causing the earth to slow down, and the moon to move to a higher orbit.

if you've ever played with a gyroscope, you know how it wobbles.

i've read that w/o the moon, the earth would wobble in much the same way, so that the moon actually stabilizes the earth.

  4. there would be no more cheese

  5. Discovery Channel did a documentary about what would the Earth be like were there no moon. Here's a blurb:

"What would life on earth be like without the moon? Well, chances are, there wouldn't be any life on earth without the moon. Life – if it had started at all – would still be in the earliest stages of evolution.

Scientists use the latest computer simulations to show how an ancient rogue planet – Orpheus – collided with the earth millions of years ago, producing a sizable chunk of debris that eventually became our moon. If that collision had never occurred, we would live in a very different place. Imagine a moon-less weather report – blizzards over the Sahara, flood waters swallowing the Pyramids, 90-degree temperatures in Antarctica. As the earth wobbles on its axis – unsecured by the moon's gravitational pull – the polar caps would grow and recede at frightening rates. And without the moon, our planet would spin much faster – meaning four-hour days and searing temperatures.

Worse yet, evidence reveals that we are in fact losing our grip on our lunar friend thanks to the ebb and flow of the oceans' tides. Experts reveal theories for salvaging the moon – including hijacking Europa from Jupiter – and demonstrate how we can prepare ourselves for our eventual life without it.

  6. i dont know destroy and see what happens but i will tell you something... the cows would not be happy not even in california

  7. well we have low and high tides in the ocean from the moons gravitational pull.

  8. There wouldn't be any life here. It's one of the myriad of perfect "happenstances" or "co-incidences" that allowed life on earth to prosper.

  9. well there wouldn't be any tides, we'd probably have more stars visible at night. and i think the calender would be different because i think it was based on the moon cycle.
