I'm taking my road test tomorrow and I live in NY so if I pass I receive my Junior License until August - when i become 17. Under the NY restrictions for the Jr. License you're supposed to have a driver over 21 and dual breaks. But I was wondering, what would happen if for some reason I was caught driving without dual breaks?

  1. Well... I've never heard of such a law before and I don't live in NY, but I would assume it is just like any other restriction on that type of driver's license.

i.e. you get caught violating the terms and you lose it. Most of those learner's permits/junior licenses don't have many points on them, so if you get even a minor offense or two, it is enough for them to pull it.

  2. There is no such law in New York that states they you must have dual brakes and if you think about it, it would be crazy to have people install such a devise.
