  1. The ER can not deny you...insurance or not.  Also, after they treat you; they will discuss payment options with you.

    (at least in the U.S.)

  2. It depends on the type of care you need. As others have said all hospitals have to give emergency care. If it is not an emergency you should see if your county/city has a free clinic or some type of subsidies care based on your income.

Check with your local health department.

If you need something like stitches a local urgent care may Be a better place than the ER the ER can be several hundred just to walk in the door.

  3. In the US, depending on the condition you can go to any emergency room and be treated, whether you can pay or not.

If it is not an emergency you can be seen by most clinics, and either pay for the service yourself or get on Medicaid or Medicare if you qualify for those services.

If you do not qualify for either of those and cannot pay, you may qualify for local state or county welfare services (such as the Gold Card in Harris County, Texas) so that you can get the care you need.

  4. I would go to the Emergency room. Its illegal (well at least here it is) for them to turn you away.

  5. You go to a doctor and pay for the medical services.  ANYONE can get medical service here in the US, you don't need insurance - it's not like a golden ticket that gets you in the door.  It just helps pay for it.  Note, it doesn't usually pay 100%!  It only HELPS you, so you still have to PAY something!
