  1. Unfortunately, the thyroid is a highly sensitive gland. If you are a male, you will more than probably grow mammary glands in your breasticle regions. If you are a woman, you'll probably just get off with a beard. Good luck with that!

  2. that depends on what the medication was for...if it was for HYPERthyriodism, then it's probably an inhibiting hormone and your thyriod would shrivel up and you'd feel really weak and lethargic n stuff

if it was for HYPOthyroidism then it's one of two...either its iodine supplements and if you take those, there wouldn't be that big a problem, cept your throat may enlarge in size slightly...if it was stimualting hormones then your throat would enlarge, like h**l, so dont take those...

if it was for goitre then it was inhibitory hormones +iodine supplements...so dont take those either...

if it was thyroxine then do not take too much of it, it could lead to the stopping of the natural production of it...

  3. I've always wondered abou that!!

  4. if you're taking thyroid hormone pills you get symptoms of hyperthyroidism - most importantly heart palpitations and rhythm disturbances. please don't do that, it'll land you in the emergency department.

other kinds of thyroid meds mess up your hormone levels, quite nasty symptoms including weight change, tummy disturbances and again heart rhythm abnormalities.

go to a doctor with the pills/ pill packets if you've taken something you shouldn't have.

  5. I'm ASSUMING that what you took, IF you took it, was the generic for Synthroid (levothyroxine) as this is the most common thyroid medication. I don't even want to know why anyone would think this drug would mess them up... alright, I'm over it.

    Anyway.

This specific medication is used for hypothyroidism. People take this when the thyroid gland in your throat isn't functioning properly or even at all. With that said, it is a replacement.

Therefore, you, probably with a normally functioning thyroid, could possibly suffer from the side effects of hyperthyroidism (irritability, swelling in the throat, general malaise, etc.). Even more unlikely but more severe, you could lose your normal function in your thyroid.

Basically, NOT a good idea. If you want to abuse something, stick with an opioid and then go into the vicious cycle of rehab and relapse. Just kidding.

But seriously, if its small and colorful and you don't know what it is, don't take it. DO NOT TAKE IT. Sweet Tarts and Skittles are OK, though.
