  1. If you do that, then I hope you have money for a new engine, among other things.

  2. It will smoke like h**l, if it will run at all. Siphon out as much as you can get out of the tank and fill with fresh gas. Pull the fuel line at the throttle body(if it's fuel injected), turn the key on to purge the line. You may have to do this a few times. If it's carburated, you'll have to turn the engine over(mechanical fuel pump) a few times until gas is coming out. Change the fuel filter for good measure. Refill the tank as you use fuel to try and dilute the remaining diesel as much as possible as it still may smoke a little.

If you put gas in a diesel, it's a huge problem. Gas is more volatile when it's compressed. Detonation(pre-ignition) is more than likely going to cause severe engine damage.

  3. Very bad-it will blow the cylinder head as the pressure will be too high

  4. It all depends on how low your tank is, if you are just topping off, you might not notice anything, but if it's half full, then it will smog and not run very good.  If it's almost empty, then it may not start at all or runs very rough with lots of smoke and not have enough power to even move.

It's usually the reverse that happens, someone not familiar with diesel trucks pulls in and puts regular gas in it.  It makes them run very bad..

  5. oh  dear! sounds like a confession to me! DONT start it..get it drained out asap...please send my sincerest commiserations to your partner!

  6. well you must have made a mess cause the nozzle at the pump is way to big and will not fit  into the filler neck opening on gas cars/trucks. the only way you would do this without making a mess is to use a funnel and I sure hope you did not do this.

  7. it most likely just wont run... diesel in a gas engine, is bad but not the end of the world. but if you put gas in a diesel it will most likely blow the engine

  8. blond.....

  9. You could blow your engine; although an engine with an intercooler, a low cfm carburetor, and a fuel cooler (like a moroso cool can)  could possibly use diesel fuel without problems. It just wouldn't be a great performer. However, if you use most of these, but with a high cfm 4 barrel race carb and high compression, as long as you have an extremely good intercooler and a cool can with a longer tube for more thorough cooling, plus below dry ice temperatures, you can have a high performance gas engine that burns diesel fuel.

  10. It wont run.  Leave it in there and you could cause damage.  Drain the tank, flush the system, and refill it with gas and you should be fine.
