What would happen...?

THIS IS A HYPOTETICAL QUESTION. IT HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME OR TO ANYONE I KNOW - I'M ASKING IT OUT OF CURIOSITY!

Let's say you were crossing a street, a vehicle had struck you, but you managed to survied.

I know the driver would into a lot of trouble for it, but what I'm after is...

Would it get you (as a pedestrian) in trouble (for jaywalking) if you didn't use the pedestrian lane as suppose to crossing in one?

(Are you going to be in trouble if you get hit by a vehicle, if you're crossing a road outside of a pedestrian lane?)

  1. hiv

  2. this very thing happened to my friend. he was severly injured and did survive to lead a somewhat normal life. he was late for work and in a hurry, it was dark and raining and he ran right in front of a car going about 30 mph. he was charged with jay walking because he was not at a crosswalk.

  3. The pedestrian will always have the right of way 99% of the time but yes you could be ticketed for jay walking and yes the driver could walk away without any citation at all, look before you cross anywhere.
