What would happen to a dry clean only comforter if you put it in the washer?

Depends on how it's made, and what material it is.

Some the batting in the middle will get messed up and lumpy.

Some if it has alot of stitching then the stitching may come undone.

Some the colors will run onto other colors.

I'd have to see it before I can tell you how to wash and dry it...

Depending on how it's made. . . most you can wash on gentle cycle in cold water and dry on fluff or gentle cycle.  Good Luck!

depends on the fabric. there is dry cleaning clothes you can buy at the store and you put one in your dryer and do it yourself.  if you are daring and want to wash it i would use gentle cycle and cold water set out to dry

If it's a very expensive comforter that you love and don't want to risk ruining, I would get it dry cleaned.  Better safe than sorry, but that is just my opinion.
