What would happen to a tornado if it went of a cliff?

Would it drop it's funnel back to the bottom or just be a funnel cloud hanging in the air?

For at least a brief time it would be a funnel cloud.  It could then build it's circulation down to the surface a short time later, however.

The tornado wouldn't be a tornado anymore. It would just be a funnel cloud because it's not touching the ground anymore. It could touch back down onto the ground and be a tornado again.

The circulation of the tornado would get messed up. But it would probubly reform again
