  1. If India manages to win this 2nd tests against Sri Lanka without any significant contribution from the big 3 in the 2nd innings, then obviously the pressure upon them from the media as well as the public is bound to increase furthur, as people will automatically call for the expulsion of Dravid, Ganguly and Sachin from the side, and state that it's time they should retire and make way for the youngsters. Such psychological pressure can affect their performance even more.

If all of the big 3 or any one of them fails to perform again, then they would come under severe criticism, as to some extent, they are already being held responsible for India's downfall. Sachin however isn't likely to be under any sort of threat, as the Indian selectors can never even dream of sacking the little master. However, the situation is worse for Ganguly and Dravid, (especially Ganguly). Being senior and experienced players, they can't ignore their responsibility towards the team, and if India secures victory, inspite of their failure, then most likely their names would be excluded even from the test squad from the next series onwards.

  2. Well for India to win, the big 3 would have to score some big runs. And if this happens, suddenly the whole Indian public will want Sourav, Dravid, Laxman to be included in the ODI team - a bigger Headache for the BCCI who clearly don't want them in the ODI team.

  3. what do u mean by "dramatically" nalka

Indian wins are not considered dramatical

its one in a blue moon win for u people is considered drametical

  4. they will keep playing

  5. they win or loss.. they will play

  6. they will evaporate you in the next test , what else!

    take my words!

  7. they will return to indian cricket team without any difficulties.

  8. I dont know what the result of the match might mean, maybe give Indian selectors confidence knowing they can do it without the "big 3".

check this out (figures are approximate) :-

    Dravid

    Career Avg - 54

    2005 Avg - 53

    2006 Avg - 60

    2007 Avg - 35

    2008 avg - 35

Not good enough for indian top 5. Only 2 hundreds in last 20 test matches.

    Tendulkar

    Career Avg. 54

    2005 Avg - 44

    2006 Avg - 24

    2007 Avg - 55

    2008 Avg - 51

Doing enough to be in the mix.  Plus he adds something to team confidence IMO when he is there.  As well a crowd favourite.  Has another 2 years of test cricket in him yet.

    Ganguly

    Career Avg - 42

    2005 Avg - 25

    2006 Avg - 34

    2007 Avg - 61

    2008 Avg - 30

In serious danger of getting dropped.  If i remember right was dropped by coach Greg Chappell in 2006 with good reason from the look.  Country was outraged according to media caverage i heard/read.  But fought his way back in and averaged 61 the season he returned.  I think he should jump before he gets pushed.
