What would happen to my chinchilla if it got wet?

I've always heard, "Don't get him wet! His fur is too dense!"

When I clean out his ball and there are still water droplets on the inside, can I still let my chinchilla in it? How much wetness is too much?

  1. A chinchilla is very apt to get sick if they get wet. A few drops of water will not hurt it, but you do not want to let it get to the point to where the water can get down to its skin,  Example, like if it were to jump into a bowl of water, and never give them a bath other than thier powder baths. they are a very frail creature..

  2. I'm sure a bit of water cant hurt as long as it does not get soaked.

  3. they multiply like gremlins..dont feed them after midnight either

  4. I believe that if a chinchilla is wet too often, its skin will become dry & irritated. Look up "wet chinchilla" on yahoo. :)
