if I let someone drive my car and they didn't have a license on them (I did not know they didn't have their license on them when I let them borrow my car).

If they had been pulled for some reason and the police saw he didn't have a license could my car have been towed?

I'm trying to decide how angry I should be at this person for driving my car w/o a license. He has borrowed it in the past with no problems.

  1. The answer is yes. The car CAN be towed if he's stopped and found to be driving without a license. But with most police departments today having instant computer access they can easily determine if he is merely driving without his license on him or if he indeed does not have a valid license. If the former he would most likely be given a ticket and allowed to proceed. If the latter he would be subject to arrest and the car towed.

  2. Your car could have been towed and the driver gone to jail. It's your responsability to know aout who is driving our car. Same if they had gotten caught with drugs. They would go to jail and your car would be sold at police auction. Something to think about.

  3. It depends on if he has a license and didn't have it with him (he would have gotten a ticket....maybe). If he does not have a license at all, then it should have been towed and impounded.

  4. Well with no license you could have your vehicle towed because what is being done is illegal.
