If you think about it the racing industry would lose most of their audience cause the cars have no purr to them and it'll be silent and there would be very little pitstops. There won't be any more passion so what would happen to the racing industry when electric cars come in in your opinion

  1. racing industry should be banned. they waste too much fuel.

I rather live with strict rules, cause this "freedom" is ruining our world. there are kids with lung problems. they need fresh air.

  2. in the 1880 to 1910 several world land speed were set be electric cars

  3. All the rednecks would have to find some other excuse to drink lots of beer.

  4. it would take 10 hours for the races instead of 5 hours.  And it would be quieter.....  bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  5. That's funny....do you really think that any sanctioning body will be forced to switch or even contemplate it?  Get real.

  6. it's already happening now and the solar powered car race in australia has taken 1 week to finish and it's more exciting than ever you think. Racing w/out worrying anything no need for pitstop. free to race w/out a hassle.

  7. have you ever thought about how much Co2 each race car emits per race? not to mention other nasty stuff. I'm sure the die hard racing buffs would certainly be whinning and sniveling especially when the electrics start beating the conventional race car. take a cruise thru the site provided.

  8. They would survive nicely thank you. The racing industry wouldn’t lose most of the audience and a good race doesn’t need loud motors. In fact a lot of fans already wear ear protection, or listen in to the pit radio to try and find out what’s going on in the pits or what the spotters are saying.

As far as pit stops go I’m going to bet there would be more pit stops not fewer. Race cars tend to go through a lot of power, given the size of the battery pack and the speeds that the cars go they will need to be changed out frequently.  In fact it’ll make pit stops even more important than they are now.

Passion doesn’t depend on noise, speed, it’s the sport that drives the passion, just like in baseball, people have teams they hate, teams they love, they sit for hours watching a game, in horse racing you have horses you love, jockeys you can’t stand, so in auto racing you have drivers you hate, drivers you love, manufactures you can’t stand, if you want passion tell a Ford guy how much better a Chevy is.

So auto racing will do very well thank you.
