I applied for grants last spring quarter and i got approved to go part-time until next year, not paying anything.

This is what happen to me. I'm all new to this college stuff. So, when I got approved went to class and everything. Not until i found out that i had to pay 2 extra classes under my own pocket because i didn't even know that I should be just taking 2 class instead of 4 classes. Didn't have money. In the first place I told them that I can only go part-time because of what I got approved from my grants. Then, summmer quarter came. I just decided to drop out because of personal reasons and I couldn't bare of all the tuition fees/ and extra charge of what they want me to pay them.

So, my question is....what's going to happen w/ my grants?

What if i decided to go to a different school? Can i re-apply? Or can i take my grants to go to a different school?

Please help me out....Thanka in advance!!!!

  1. Usually when you drop out you lose your grant.  My suggestion is to call the school and see if the money is still there...if not you need to reapply for grants.  Too bad no one explained this stuff to you before hand...that is the biggest mistake of counselors and students...not giving enough information and not seeking all the information.  Hopefully you will find another grant..if not you might want to look into student loans...it's not too bad....

    Good luck...
