What would happen with Russia VS America?

If Russia and America went to war? Who would get the best and why??

Both would destroy each other if it came to nuclear war.  Kinda grim...which is why we need to get rid of all nuclear weapons.  

But if I had to choose, I'd say the United States, if it got the first strike (which would destroy many of Russia's weapons stockpiles)

We did that already, almost. The Cold War. No one won, a lot of lives were destroyed (just look McCarthy up) and billions of dollars were wasted by both nations. I can't imagine fifty years' time would have changed things that much.
