What would happened if this happened?

Ok so i was wanting to go into a FEI jumping competition and I was just wondering what if your helmet fell off? Would you be disqualified or could you just keep going. I was wanting to know because once i was in a competition and my helmet strap brock and it came off and i got disqualified. thanks

You have to stop and retrieve the helmet. Getting off would get you disqualified though (seperation of horse and rider). They might have a rule that says you are disqualified if the helmet comes off but I'm not sure.

Either way you are disqualified

EDIT: horses4courses: Their rule book covers everything that could possibly happen in the ring. It would have to since it has been running so long.  I said might because I haven't read it in their books. Just in several circut/PC rule books based off of theirs.

that's a good question lol I don't think they thought about stuff like that when they wrote the rules but I would say that you would have to retire or be eliminated for the safety reasons if nothing else. If you really can't find anything and are that worried I'd contact the FEI and ask them.
