What would have a better picture: A tube HDTV or a Standard Plasma tv?

I'm aware some plasma tvs have hdtv capabilities, but I'm speaking generally which would be better.

A Tube (or CRT) HDTV. Reason being, the black a plasma T.V.'s  produces is not quite as good a tube T.V.'s. Plus plasma T.V.'s are set on one resolution while CRT T.V.'s have a range of resolution. But if space is a concern then go with plasma.
