What would have happened if Athens had won the Peloponnesian war?

What if the outcome of that war had been reversed?

I also need to know if it could have been avoided...

  1. Read our history and stop asking people to do your home work. Giving out points on Yahoo doesn't cost you anything but reading a history book will teach you a lot.

  3. I think they would have continued their reckless imperialist policies and come to ruin anyhow, either from Alexander the Great (as they did in fact) or from the Romans, who would have eventually rolled right over them.

    Athens had the ambitions and greed of an imperial nation but not the power or wealth to sustain it.

    You have to remember that Attica, the region where Athens lies, had a relatively small population base.
