Hey there, so I'm 15 now, I've always dreamed of moving to England, so after high school, I want to move to England. Would this be possible? I'd want to go to a university/college over there, and just live there. Not foregin exchange or anything. So would this be possible for me to do once I do turn 18? Advice would be great. Try to be nice please. I know this is a big jump, but it is what I want to do

  1. You will need to contact the British Embassy in your country to obtain information on residency requirements. No country just allows people to move in. You will need to have legal permission to live and work there before you go. Without this, you can only stay for a limited time (usually 90 days) and you cannot legally work.

You will probably have a much better chance of success if you wait until after college and obtain a degree in a field that needs applicants in the UK. Being able to do a job that is difficult to fill will help you.  They are much less likely to approve a new high school grad because you will have no useful job skills. They try to filter out people who may end up being unemployed or on welfare.

  2. Start doing really well in your studies, so that you can qualify and be admitted to a college in the UK.

Now is a good time also, to open a savings account to save money for that plan.

If it really is what you want to do, you can.  You have to stay focused on the goal and start taking the steps that will get you there. It is not too early to begin.  Good Luck!  It will be a wonderful experience.

  3. Save money! It is really expensive to live in the UK.
