What would i have to go through moving from america to the UK? PLEASE help meee :]] ?

I live in mount morris michigan,

and in three- four years or so plan on moving to cannock, in england, with my best friend.

i will be around 18 by thenand, i just really need to get everything sorted out.

money, housing, food.

please help?!

Well, I congratulate you for thinking of planning instead of just going and believing it will all work out.  Save as much money as you can---when you exchange US dollars to the British Pound--you will lose half the value (so $5000 will automatically be just about 2,500 GBP)  That may sound like a lot--but if you have to stay somewhere for a few days while looking for a permanent place to live, and then arrange for utilities and pay for food and transport, and pay the security deposit and 1st months rent for a flat---it can add up FAST.  (maybe you could flat share with other people--that would save some funds; (look on gumtree or craigslist) Food may not be an issue---they even have McDonalds, BK, Pizza Hut, Starbucks and probably many more US chains--just don&#039;t expect to find many familiar US products in the grocery store--and when you do, they are pricier--learn to adjust &amp; be flexible. And some things are called by different names--outside of the obvious &quot;chips&quot; - cookies are biscuits, and dish soap is washing up liquid. (my 1st experience grocery shopping still has me laughing at myself) Anyway, with our US economy--start saving $$ for it NOW.  Oh, and you&#039;ll need to work--so you have to have a work permit-- so you should research that. It can all be done--with planning and maturity--good luck.

If you want to work you need the right kind of visa

Have plenty of cash because rent, food ect is VERY expensive all over the UK.

Have relevant qualifications that helps you to find a well paid job, otherwise you will not survive for long here. Research the job market from the US before you come over to see what is available.

i.e.search internet job sites.
