What would i need to add an amp and subs to a factory (not bose) 04 Mazda RX8 system?

i will be putting a 10" pioneer premier subwoofer with 350W RMS and a mono amplifier with the same wattage. also thinking about buying the MTX RE-Q.

  1. If your amp has high level inputs then simply buy some speaker wire and wire them parallel to the rear speakers in the car and connect them via spade connectors to the amp. Some amps can actually detect when music appears on the high level input and will turn on and off accordingly.  If your amp has this feature you're laughing because you won't have connect the remote turn on  wire!  All you have to do is run power and ground cables.


  2. You would need a line driver. It will tap the output for speakers to grab signal for rca's to run to your amp. You can get one at one of your local audio shops. And of course and amp wiring kit for power and ground. You will also have to go to the fusebox or the radio for a switched 12v wire to turn the amp on and off with the ignition. usually you can grab for remote behind the radio or at the ignition harness. Just be sure to fuse this wire.
