describe the development of a country with cultural differences

i am thinking of doing india (was there last yr)

i am planning on talking about the caste system, religions and conflicts caused by different religions(hindus in india and muslims in pakistan) and languages.

but i don't think i am answering the question coz it says the DEVELOPMENT of cultural differences. what do i do or is what i am planning to write actually answering the question

When you are taking about the developement of cultural differences, you are looking at cause and effect. India has traditionally been a Hindu region, but the advent of Islam and the proliferation of the new religion caused a cultural and religious split, promoting internal strife and culminating in the breakaway of Pakistan as an Islamic state.

When you attempt to discuss the caste system, you will want to talk first of the traditional caste, then about what women's movements and human rights movements have done to get rid of the traditional system.

It sounds like you have firm footing for a good paper; take your time and reason out why things are the way they are, and what changed to make them the way that they are.

im not sure if thsi will help but in the geography higher course in scotland....for questions that ask for differences of development in one country we've been told to use brazil i know its nothing to do with culture but it may help. However we have spoke about india and how the state of kerala is more developed than the rest of india even though its one of the poorest states
