  1. It could take up to 2 1/2 years to adopt a baby/child from China - that is if you are approved.  Only a certain number of babies/children are allowed to leave the country now.

  2. At least 20 grand if not a bit more.

You'd be abroad for close to 2 weeks. About 10 days in China and some days in the US Consulate in Guangzhou. Where your adopted child would get permission to come to the USA.

As far as time frame I had a friend who adopted this past Spring from the time they started their paper work till they got their daughter it was about a 1 1/2 year. However this was before  China changed their criteria my friend and her husband were "grandfathered".  I'm not sure what the wait is now probably close to  1 1/2 to 2 years.

  3. I am in the process of an adoption from China right now and can tell you that  the "paperwork" stage takes 4-6 months.

The "waiting" stage is about 3-4 years right now.

China also has very stringent guidelines on who they will let adopt their children.

As far as cost, I'm sure that your question wasn't meant as "How cheap and quick can I adopt?" but more for budgeting purposes.  You should plan to budget at least $20-$25,000 if you are serious.

I would also recommend checking out the web site www.informedadoptions.com

  4. Your best bet is to contact a local reputable adoption agency that specializes in adoptions from China.  They will best be able to explain all the special requirements and fees associated with adopting from China.

    Good luck to you.

  5. if all you care about is the cost and how long, then you dont care enough to get a child, if you were serious about getting one and really cared about it, you would not give a rats p**p about how much it cost or how long it would take.

  6. UMM IT WOULD PROBALLY COST U TRAVELING COST,LIKE FOR AIRPLANES NAD HOTELS.ALSO MY MOTHER ADOPTED A BOY FROM RUSSIA AND IT TOOK UP TO 6MONTHS TO A YEAR.THAT'S BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO LOOK YOUR RECORDS UP AND CHECK AROUND YOUR HOUSE.OH AND IF YOUR REALLY GOING TO ADOPT,CONSIDERING HAVING THAT CHILD HIS/HER ROOM BECAUSE THAT'S THE ONLY WAY THEY CAN LIVE WITH YOU!!!BYE...HOPE EVERYTHING WORKS OUT

    NEW ORLEANS BOUND

    ~~DOMINICAN~~

    6TH WARD BABE

  7. Costs do vary but I think on average it costs the adoptee a complete sense of self and shatters the ability to love unconditionally, while depleting the stores of trust. It costs feeling acceptance, and having one's natural abilities and traits modeled.

For the mother of adoption loss it can cost her future fertility, confidence, self-esteem. Sometimes it costs her severe depression and lack of trust in others. There is a toll of resentment her family may bear for not helping her keep her baby.

For the adoptive parents, usually it's just a bunch of money. Oh and some paperwork.

  8. 2 yrs, $30,000.

    please don't do it.
