  1. first what fuel. and is it available near you. I have a 21 foot ski/cabin boat as well as a 75 Mercedes (pre environmental act) that i have converted to e-100. of course to do so I had to make my own still, and had to modify the engine some.  next an 82 needs to pass emissions test if required in your area. while ethanol is more Eco friendly its not gas which is what the sensors on the truck are made for they need to be changed. as far as cost not much if you do it yourself. you need to change all rubber in the fuel system to high density polyethylene HDPE as it will melt.

  2. You have to pick a fuel first. For example: Butanol requires no modification to current engines. There are two pilot projects developing bio-butanol.

  3. Probably the easiest way is to convert the engine to take diesel fuel, then you can use old frying oil which you should be able to get from fast food restaurants, the oil needs to be filtered first, you'll have to look it up. The ideal thing about this is, if you can't get hold of any oil, you can use diesel instead. Good luck!

  4. I have no idea how to do it, but my high school geometry teacher had a truck that she modified to run off of propane. It had a little propane tank which took up half of the cargo room in the bed.

  5. Easy - VERY easy.  Grab an 4cyl engine from a junked 2000 - 2002 S-10, plus the tank and fuel line.  Replace your engine with that one.  You are now E-85 compatible.
