If we had a cooling trend that lasted for ten years for instance?

What would convince you?

  1. All the many glaciers around the world that have melted (after having existed for thousands of years), would have to return...

But instead of that happening, we're looking at Antarctica and Greenland melting too, raising the ocean levels, and flooding all the heavily populated coastlines of the world.

It's really a catch-22 that we have to try and solve as soon as possible: How do we continue to grow the world's economies without eventually ending up with something resembling a Martian wasteland.

Obviously, we have the technology to solve our own problems. Hopefully we can figure out how to stop destroying ourselves and the planet, and the sooner the better.

It's only a question of how fast the economies of the world can retool themselves to adjust to the new facts and information we are receiving about the world we live in...

    Good luck world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. To be quite honest, someone would have to erase my memory then present full scientific proof for the cause every phenomenon that goes against global warming.

I don't think that will ever happen.

  3. The fact that it is getting warmer on Mars even though there are like two cars and they both run on solar power.  Pretty much prooves that even if humans are doing something the sun is dooing a lot more.

  4. It will require that the mantra, "thousands of climate scientists believe" be replaced by "I have studied the problem and this is the evidence that supports my conclusion."

I am at a loss to explain the inclination to site the beliefs of others as justification for one's own belief.

Unfortunately, people have turned off their minds to any evidence from the "other side" so this is the mess that we get.

  5. For many, it can't be done in one human lifetime.  Say that starting this year, for solar cycles or whatever reason you want, the earth starts cooling & continues for 10 years.

This would be an anomoly, or a hiccup, on a rising temperature trend.  Or, it would be construed as some other effect of carbon in our atmosphere.

No matter what your opinions on global warming are, you have to admit the beauty of it politically.  Even if it were false, the time series needed to prove as much is much longer than a human lifespan.

  6. The scientific evidence is already available showing man made global warming is a bunch of garbage. What it will take is dismantling the main stream media, and stop federal funding of the schools (aka: brainwashing centers of the Communist America).

  7. Nothing. It can't be done. It'd be like debunking Christianity.

  8. Critical thought, which is lacking in so many people today. Every one has strong opinions on EVERYTHING, and no one really does the heavy lifting of research.

*Is the the globe warming? Yes, data trends indicate so..

*What percentage does human action play? A small one even iffy you believe all the hype.

*Should we be doing something about our Contribution? Yes, in a common sense fashion, knowing full well it is a small part.

Mostly, it's being wielded as a political tool, by those not in power, seeking power over you and me.

  9. Pretty funny that the only source shown by any of the skeptics is the Heartland Insititue, a pure propaganda org. completely paid for by Exxon and already proven to have no real scientific basis.

What it would take is 14,000 scientists doing research for 30 years or so and over 900 peer reviewed scientific papers, just like the IPCC.

And it would take disavowing any connection to the Heartland Insitute and other propaganda machines of the entrenched powers that are disinforming you about the truth.

  10. A miracle.

  11. It took decades of socialized education to dumb down society to this level...it'll take a new generation, taught to think for themselves.  We need a John Galt.

  12. you would need to show a long term cooling or steady trend over the whole world. 10 years min.

but when you look at the data temps are still increasing.
