What would make a 95 sunfire stall and want to cut off and hesitate in the gas petal like im running outa gas?

i had a cavalier that did the same thing! i was never able to stop it from doing that so i used it as a trade in.

Sounds like you own a '95 Pontiac Sunfire.  Now, go get a Honda or Toyota.  Your car is not worth the paint left on it.

Allot of different things could cause this. When diagnosing a problem I usually start with the cheaper repairs first, in your case, fuel or air filter may be clogged, injectors may be clogged, fuel pump could be dieing off, a bad ground is a possibility but not likely, spark plugs bad or the gap is off, throttle body/throttle cable could be causing an issue due to no opening all the way,  I would start with  checking the air filter clean or replace it, as far as the injectors go you can try running injector cleaner (although never worked for me in the past) or replace the injectors, You can pull the spark plugs and check the gap and for carbon deposits with those either re-gap them or replace them, if the fuel filter is not in the tank I would replace that. A Haynes repair manual or factory repair manual would probably be a good investment it will have trouble shooting and guides on how to check those items/repair/ replace. Hope this is help full.

  Do you have a temperature guage or a light?? Is it over heating?? Does it do it when you first start it or after it warms up??Your car is equiped with OBDII. Have it scaned and see what codes come up.
