It's a 1998 dodge stratus.

It is front wheel drive. It has new tires and front and rear alignment.

  1. if your RPM's were high, its something with the engine.

Otherwise, it could be the shocks, if they havent been changed in a while.

  2. Ive had this problem, albeit not with this perticular model.  The problem can be a multitude of things, bad alignment, broken shocks, loose wheels, or in an extreme case the differentials are seperating from the vehicle somehow.  This vehicle is DEFINATELY NOT SAFE for operation.  Get it checked out ASAP.  Good luck!

  3. check the front end, you might have something loose under there, like a bad ball joint or a tie rod.also maybe they did,nt balance the tires right.

  4. Just because the tires are new doesn't mean they're not the problem.

It sounds like your wheels / tires are properly balanced.  Could be that one of them has a defect which makes proper balancing impossible.

Go to the tire dealer, get them to drive it with you as a passenger.

I once had a new tire which was so bad that within a block you'd drift across 4 lanes if you let go of the wheel.  They replaced, no drift.

  5. it can be your alignment like they say or it can be that your engine mount is messed up ... i only say that cause thats what happened with my car

  6. Did they balance the new tires/wheels?  Maybe your shocks and suspension need some work like somebody else said already.

  7. Alignment. Ball bearings going bad.

  8. a driver on crystal meth?

  9. I know that you said you have new tires... but are sure there not used? My car did the same thing one time and I went to have my tires checked. One of my tires had a knot in it and I was about to have a blow out. Blow outs can be very dangerous and could cause you to have a fatal wreck. From what I understand even new tires can have knots in them. So i would definitely get this checked out because its dangerous. Hope this helps! Be careful!

  10. tire alignment, stupidly low tire pressure, tire bolts are not bolted on...

  11. something is very wrong with the alignment. Go back and have

    them do it again.

  12. transmission?
