  1. What are you trying to accomplish with it all?

part of the problem is that this isn't even stop-motion animation, but a series of still photos strung together.

My suggestion is that he is beset by a series of mishaps, so his "adventures" always turn a bit sour for him.

To wit. He is out camping. he tries to make s'mores, but the marshmallow catches on fire, and then HE catches on fire, where he sets EVERYTHING on fire.

Now, it all turns out OK, because what we think it a raging conflagration is really something rather tiny.

You can also add to the "cheesiness" of it by having fake fire. Perhaps a picture of a fire or cut-out flames.

    OR

You have him trying to avoid the sinister clutches of Mr. Snip, a pair of scissors who wants to cut him up into little tiny bits (as that's what scissors do).

But the adventurer is unaware of his presence and through happenstance, manages to escape being scrap paper while Mr. Snip takes another defeat
