What would make a home clothes dryer start to squeal (loudly) when operating? Please Help?

I also would opt for a belt problem, if you have your manual, or get it on line, you'll know for sure, but even to purchase the belt,  will not cost that much, and have someone put it on for you.

Look for the F&A in your brand name and model# usually on the back of the machine or inside the door.

It's probably the belt wearing and beginning to slip.

My husband can replace one in 5 minutes.

Sounds like the belt is wearing out. When a fan belt wears out on a car it does the same thing

But it could also be the bearings. A belt would be a cheaper fix.
