What would make call waiting NOT work on a forwarded call? Worked yesterday! Now 2nd call gets busy signal.?

Ok, bear with me here:

I have att phone, my boss TDS. She forwards the calls to me at night to answer. Last night, everything was fine, but today when she forwarded them to me, she called and then another person tried to call and got a busy signal, so the call waiting is not working now. I have called both phone companies and they both say that there is nothing they can do! HELP!

Call waiting does not work with forwarded calls.!! When you un-forward your calls, call waiting will work again..

Call them back.

If the call waiting just isnt working on the forwarded calls, its true, there isnt anything they can do.

But if it isnt working altogether, they at least owe you a technician to verify that the service is working properly out of the NIU or MTA on the outside location.
