  1. bad wire's

  2. If it was a short circuit the receiver would shut off as soon as the sound starts.....my guess is that it's the speakers that are requiring more power than the receiver can provide.

  3. Sounds like a short in your speaker wiring.  Trace your wires and make sure none is broken or if you have a splice that they're not touching.

    weeder

  4. you have to check that your speaker inpedence is right for your amp.the back of your speakers should have either 6or8 ohm written on them.I've checked the speakers on line and they are 8ohm speakers,so i would suggest that you hook them up again watching closely the +and- closely.

  5. Does the receiver show a protection light? Is the receiver hot?Does this happen immediately or when the stereo has been on for a while?

If it happens immediately it could be a short of some kind either internal to the amp, Speakers or both.

If this problem only rears its ugly head after it has been on for a while and only when you turn it up it is most likley a failure due to heat or a mismatch in speaker impedence. Make sure you do not have anything sitting on top of the receiver. It should have about 6 inches of space on the top at least, to let the heat out.

Verify the wires are connected properly. get down close to the connections and make sure you do not have any frays of wire which might be contacting the other teminals.

It could be that you are just overdoing it. Just because the volume k**b is not at the max does not mean the stereo isn't. Many times lower cost stereos will reach max volume output by the time the k**b is turned 60-70% of the way up.
