  1. It is most likely a bacterium or a red blood cell. The bacterium can still generate ATP by aerobic respiration with enzymes on the inner cell membrane and the cytosol. The red blood cell does away with most enzymic reactions that require energy.


  2. Bacterial cells do not contain mitochondria.  They carry on the respiratory reactions in the cytoplasm.

    If an eukaryotic cell does not have them they will be limited in the amount of ATP they would be able to produce.
