What do you think? Time was, we were the guardians of our own self-esteems. What happened, so we have become a bunch of kindergarten children?

  1. Overpopulation is the problem. Overpopulation causes overspending, over legislation, the whole becomes more important than the individual.

The Supreme Court decided a few years ago that city governments could take personal land, peoples' homes for any reason i.e. shopping centers. Can they not wait until a person sells, people change houses these days like they change their clothes. If a person likes their house and doesn't want to move, people will just have to shop elsewhere.  I can understand a school but a shopping center.  Shallow and scary.

  2. Are you suggesting we all go back to a Hobbsian mentality when life was nasty, brutish and short? What happened is that people developed a sense of civility and right and wrong.  It's not a question of infantization. It's a matter of respect for other people and preserving dignity.  Too bad you don't seem to value those things.

  3. Oooga-Booga?

  4. I think they would be upset if they could be plonked into our time right now at the Beijing Olympics and in the middle of high security and dense fog and spectators without tickets kept as far away from the Arena as possible.  They would wonder what on earth they had stuck.
