  1. The shock would be for the Reds to come up with the Wild Card in the NL.

Most likely to happen is letter A. They are bound to miss the playoffs if they don't hurry.

  2. A is probable

B is possible but the Sox are more worried about the White Sox or the Twins taking the Wild Card

C is the last thing baseball wants and would be the most shocking

  3. Baseball can't afford to lose the big market teams via TV revenue and sponsorships.  I'd have to say "C".

You might want to add "D", the Rays winning the division or even going to the world series.  I know it's not likely with the Angels playing so well but who would have picked the Rays to do anything before the season started?

  4. b and c...b because the red sox are a very good team and they seem to be a lock for the playoffs...to see them just drop like that and miss it would be pretty shocking...AND c because these two teams are power teams...if none of these two dont make it then there will be chaos on earth

  5. D) Rangers making playoffs.

  6. C would shock me the most, followed by B, then a great distant, then A

I really can't see the enthusiasm or expectation for the playoffs for the Yankees this year considering their starting pitching and the slumps that Jeter, Cano and Posada have been in.

  7. D) the rays win the world series in 5. i think that would be more shocking.

  8. C is my choice because that is a fantasy play

    B is my second Choice

    A is third choice

  9. sadly i have to say A

  10. C.

    I Hope it happens!

  11. I'd have to go with C because it combines aspects of both A and B where maybe the Yankees surge, but still fall just short of the Wild Card, as do the Red Sox.

    A) would be shocking because of all the seasons for that to happen, it had to be during the last season of Yankee Stadium.

    B) wouldn't be as shocking because The Yankees came from behind to take the wild card (and almost the division) last year after a horrible start. Eventhough it would be a bigger stretch this season with all the injuries and the Rays being in the mix, they are still the New York Yankees. Plus the Red Sox don't have Manny in the line-up.

  12. I would have to say C

    Good question

    Here's a star

  13. C

  14. c deffinatley that would suck

  15. C would have to be the most shocking. Yanks missing for the first time since 94' would be huge, but then adding in that the Bo Sox miss it too, now that would be mind blowing. It would also be kind of dull to have two of the most historic teams in MLB out of the playoffs. However, I do like the Twinkies!

  16. I'll have to go with....

Answer D) The Cubs vs. Rays in the World Series and the winner is................you tell me. How about that for a shocker?

To answer your question, it would have to be C.  Neither team in the post season = terrible TV ratings

  17. Lol C!

  18. C would be the most shocking.

I'd LOVE for B to happen.

  19. By far C......then B......then A

    Sadly enough!

  20. B: This would shock me because the Yankees are really not showing the signs of a team getting it together for a run.  The other two I can see happening and not be shocked by it.

  21. B) would shock me most. I can see Boston missing the playoffs with back of their rotation getting banged up recently (especially if Bucholtz stays in it). But i really would shake my head if the yankees are in the playoffs again this year. It wouldn't seem right. They are so bad this year.

I'd say A) is most likely to happen. Sorry, yankees fans.

  22. I think that C would be the most shocking. To have two of the biggest, most popular teams out of the playoffs, would be a huge blow to the ratings.

As for what is most likely to happen, as much as I hate to admit it, I have to go with A. The Yanks have been hit hard with injuries and just keep falling back in the standings. There is a good chance they will not make the playoffs.

  23. I think the biggest shock would be someone signing Barry Bonds for the rest of the season.

As for your choices, A would be likely to happen.

  24. C for sure. The yanks came back to get a wildcard last year, a lot of people could see that happening again.
