  1. The real answer to your question, It all depends on the box. The enclosure is very important, in fact about the most important. A great sub in a S****y enclosure is going to sound well, S****y.

The 2 MTX subs in the right box will be louder, the JL in the right box will sound better. MTX is more of a SPL sub, the JL is more of a SQL sub.

As for the fuse, if the only amp you have hooked up is the 1000W JL than your pulling 69Amps, so not enough to pop a 150A fuse. The fuse on your main line is to protect your car and power wire, not the amp.

As for why the amp is going into thermal protect, I'd need more information.

  2. If you love to bump then go with JL audio. My best friend has one and d**n it is loud. he has got the same amp too. I promise you that you will not be disapointed with the Jl audio and besides Mtx subs are no were near JL audio subs!

  3. I vote for more cone area

is there sufficient airflow for the amp to dissipate heat? If its wedged between the back of the seat and the box, there might not be enough ventilation....meh $0.02
