Say we had the internet 30 years earlier and ?uest was the drummer for a group like Brick, Con Funk Shun or Maze instead of a hip hop band called The Roots. What type of subjects do you think we'd be talking about here? I'm sure the MJ vs Prince battle would be heating up as would the Rap vs R&B talk. But old heads, just step back and think for a minute at some of the topics that were being kicked around the barber shops and hoop courts back in the day. Step back about 25 years ago and paint us a picture of the lesson in 1983 or 84.

  1. I'm not afraid to say Prince was the man joe.

We probably be talkin more about breakin and taggin then we do now. Crossover appeal of hip-hop & what it would take for hip-hop to blow up.

Do you think hip-hop will ever win a grammy or oscar?

Do you think we will ever have a black president?

How do you like to smoke your crack?

    Good Tymes

  2. "The Bridge Is Over"

    KRS1 vs MC Shan

    Roxanne Shante'?

  3. :| Good Question

I'm hating on you at this moment :|

all I can say is we would have alot better debuts

    in here

Co Sign with Mr T on the Roxanne Shante

    Thumbs up.

  4. I'd probably be funking it up with plenty questions about why no one respects George Clinton's contributions to the arts...I'd be rolling something while listening to Slave, Sly or James Brown...There would be talks of who the best Fat boy is, and the on going war between Slick Rick or Dana Dane...It would be fresh

  5. Bronx vs Queens

    Rakim Stans

MJ vs Prince would be funny as h**l

  6. There would be no c**p on the radio like we have now, so we wouldn't have that to bytch about.  RnB vs Hip Hop would be one heated azz debate echoing through these forums.  The affects of Gangsta Rap would be a hot topic for sure.  Maybe a lot more fun.

  7. "Sugarhill Gang are bitin' suckas"

"Sugarhill Gang are DEF! You guys are just hating"

"Who's the REAL originator? Grandmaster or Herc?"

If it was EARLY 80s, then you'd also have:

"Rap is just a fad. Who agrees?"

"Rap will still be around 30 years from now. Who agrees?"
