What would the U.S. Customs charge me if I wanted to import clothing from Mexico?

I also dont know how much the tax is in Mexico to bring truckloads of clothes into the U.S.??

  1. You also need to hire a Customs Broker. They will handle all the documents for you and plan the logistics.


  2. Duties on items are based on the value of the items being imported into the US, the types of clothes, and whether the clothing is new or used.  You also may need to get a license from US Customs, depending on the amount being brought in.

    I'd suggest that you'd get a better answer from US Customs directly than you would from this site.

  3. I worked for Customs for 32 years.  Clothing from different countries have different rates and may or may not require visas, or subject to quotas and of course may have different duty rates dependent on material, whether woven or knit.  

    You appear to be a novice in this area.  I would suggest that you contact the customs office in your area.  This would be under the Customs and Border Protection.  You can find a port near you at www.cbp.gov.
