Decent weather ideal for a family with a young child (4yrs).

Not to long a flight!

I think having decent weather would be a key issue and a decent hotel.

  1. I would recommend Barcelona.

    The city is beautiful.

    It has a mediterranean climate.

Easy access from the U.K. (fly easyjet)

The christmas lights there are lovely.. In the Barri Gothic on the cathedral steps there is a fantastic christmas market, with ornaments and Creche figures...very pretty.

Barcelona has dozens of things to see and dozens of excellent hotels.

    Look up

    www.hoteles-en-barcelona.com

If the weather is mild enough take your son to Port Aventura Theme Park. (It is open Xmas and New Years weeks).

I hope you enjoy your trip.

Barcelona is a wonderful city to visit!

  2. not too long a flight?

Then It'd have to be along the coast near Alicante.

Nice weather that time of year and not as far south as Andalucia

Edit - Bacelona is great - I lived there for 4 years, but it is rarely hot there at Christmas, you need to go further south

  3. Go to the south. You may not wish it but you will

find lots of Brits there. Get a decent travel agent,

better if you know him so you do not have to go

blind, and he will recommend the best cost/return

ratio. Of course, you can also go to Internet search

before visiting an agent so it will make you sound

knowledgeable. The "Spanish Tourist Board" is

what you need to enter into Google/Yahoo search.

    Have a nice holiday!

  4. spen a few christmases in benidorm (sad persom) but weather ok hotel staff made an effort to make it good

  5. salou - an hr from barcelona. very family oriented place, flight 2 hours approx.

  6. its a hard desision to make...i liked the new Benidorm..full of English people...but im off to Torromolinos same as last year...best hotel to stay is the Beach Club...nice people nice hotel brilliant food..and they welcome kids...weather is t-shirt weather  good enough for me

  7. id say benidorm! its a short 2 hour flight and i have been there 3 times, the coast there is quite nice and always loads to do. if your the with kids you should go all inclusive too, the hotels along the coast are mostly involved with all inclusive hotels.

  8. Seville, or Cordoba both  warm, lively and truly Spanish.
