  1. The basic rule is that the minimum bet can be doubled about ten times:

    5, 10, 20, 40, 80, 160, 320, 640, 1280, 2560, ....

So most will have a $1000 maximum, a few will have a $2500 maximum, and only a tiny percentage will have a higher maximum (for publicity purposes)

  2. The highest I've personally seen was a $1000 max on a $5 minimum.

  3. I believe it's around $500 or as high as $1,000.

Most table games that have bets that are close to even odds are close to 100 times the minumum. This is to ensure people dont double the bet each time to guarantee a win.

Meaning, if you are playing a $5 minimum table and bet $5, you will win quite a few times on this first bet. However, if you lose, all you would have to do is double each bet from what it was the time before. So if you bet $5 and lose, double it to $10. If you win, you win the $5 back you lost on the first bet plus your $5 from half of the 10 you just bet. If that $10 bet loses, double it to $20. If you win you win back the $15 you bet on first two hands ($5 + $10 = $15) plus the other $5 on the bet. And so on. Once you win, you will be getting Your original bet money (the $5).

They are set up so you can only do this method, double the bet about 7 to 8 times. Because although its rare to lose 8 consecutive hands of blackjack, IT DOES HAPPEN. So if the bet starts at 5, doubles to 10, then 20, then 40, 80, 160, and finally topped out at 320. That would make it 7 times of doing this. Or maxed out at $640 if limit is $1000.

It is effective, however there are some good advantages and bad disadvantages by playing this way.

First the good. If you are not that unlucky, this will work for you. And when you hit a blackjack (21) you win one and a half times the bet. So if you've properly doubled up, and you have a $80 bet out there and hit blackjack, CHA - CHING !!!!

The downfall, like I said losing 7 + consecutive hands is hard to do, its definatly possible. And, you need to have enough money to cover all the double up bets. 5 + 10 + 20 + 40 + 80 + 160 + 320 = $635 to start out. Or $1275 if  limit is $1,000.

This same strategy can be used on Roulette for red and black 50/50 type of bets.

  4. It depends on the casino, but if you are asking that question, why would you be on a $5 table in the first place??????  Go to a $25 minimum table, there are less tourist (horrible players) and you don't get as much stupid play (hitting  for the dealer bust card).

  5. Totally depends on the casino...

  6. It just depends on the casino. At some places it's $500 and at others it's $5000. The average is probably closer to $1000, but it can vary greatly.

  7. TOTALLY depends on the casino

anywhere from 200-5000 is a good guess :)

500 is the most common though

  8. Maggs is about right. The casino I work in allows a $1000 max bet on the 6 deck shoe.
