I had a strange dream last night. I dreamed that a couple of friends of mine moved to New York to this condo and I went to visit them and got on the elevator to their condo and it kept going up and up but never stopped. I then woke up. I was sad in the dream because New York is really far away from me and I am wondering what this meant?

  1. got on elevator but never stopped = unreachable, lack of control

You may be feeling helpless in some aspect of your life. That is due to lack of control or some incapability in you.  The scenario of going new your and elevator points to your decision making.  And you may be having problem making certain decision about your social life.  Perhaps you are doubtful and uncertainty and that is why you vent out dream like that.

  2. I think this dream is expressing your fear of losing your friends to death.  Think about it... they went far away, to a condo.  This might be something like an apartment complex for the elderly, or it might be "dementia" or "senility" or some state (see, another "state" of being, represented by NY) where they don't really recognize you, and are not truly themselves any more.

You go to visit them, but they are "not there".

This elevator going up could also represent their "trip to Heaven" as you will not be able to follow them there at this time.

Pray for wisdom, and cherish your time with them.

God bless you AND your friends.

  3. It could be a number of things, depending on how you felt during the dream. Something tells me it's not about New York as much as it's about your friends. It's possible that you have a subconscious fear of losing your friends, either by them passing or moving far away.

It could also be a premonition that one will move far away, but regardless if it's going to happen or not, the best thing to do is spend more time with your friends and loved ones.
