What would the punishment be for abortion if it was barred by law?

What do you think a fair punishment would be under law if abortion was outlawed? And why do you think your punishment would be most suitable?

Whatever the punishment was before it was legal. The doctor could lose his licence to practice medicine. As for the woman? I wouldn't know how to punish a scared and frightened female.

Knowing the pro-lifers, I expect a stoning. Or burnt at the stake.

Seriously, back street abortion is risky enough to be considered a death sentence anyway, with the risk of infection, internal bleeding and/or gangrene.

Yeah, reeeeal "pro-life".

It will not be outlawed.  If Roe v Wade is overturned the issue will go back to the states.  Each state will make its own law.  In one it might be illegal while perfectly legal in the next.
