Do you think all the conservatives would have been as kind and supportive and said it was a private family matter?

  1. Doubt they would have.  They would've said that it was just the icing on the cake with the corrupt Clinton's.  They made fun of Chelsea in such horrible ways (not just republicans, but the media as a whole), I give the Clinton family credit for taking it all in stride.

I don't think this information should be a reason to bash Palins daughter, I mean she is a kid and not a politician.  I do think however, it gives reason to question Palins ideas of abstinence only education.

  2. Poor Chelsea, didn't even have to get knocked up to catch all the venom of McCain..

"Why is Chelsea so ugly? Cause her dad is Janet Reno"

    Not nice..

  3. Given the impeachment over a *******.  No.

  4. Yeah, as long as she didn't abort.

  5. I don't think family matters should be part of the election. Whatever decisions one of their kids make is their decision. Sure, sometimes it is the parents' fault, but don't you remember being young and going out and doing what you wanted? I don't think conservatives would jump all over Chelsea, unless she got an abortion. But remember, it goes both ways, if Obama was a republican candidate all the liberals would stop ignoring his major flaws and wake up from the sham he's pulling.

  6. That would pale in comparison to what Cheseas father did in the White House.

  7. Well Chelsey's father was too busy "getting busy" in the white house with his intern so really the repubs had plenty to talk about.  But yeah i'm sure the consevatives would have ran with it.  Did you hear the horrible things Mc Cain had said about Chelsey Clinton?  He later said he was "just joking" but look it up and see for yourself.  Obama all the way !  Obama has morals and integrity and is not stooping low by bashing Palin and her daugther...instead he said to leave the children out of it...what a great man he is...we need more Obama's on this earth.

  8. The world would have said "she's her father's daughter."

  9. Well, as a Republican, I have always liked Chelsea, and I would have seen her and Hillary as very sympathetic figures.  I wouldn´t condemn them in any way.  But I know I would be watching how the Clinton´s handled this matter, I would hope she would urge Chelsea to keep the baby.

  10. First we would have had to try to rule out Bill as the father.

  11. Absolutely not.  They would have torn her a new birth canal and made sickening comments about her personality.

I think Bristol Palin is an excellent advocate for an abstinence-only education and upbringing... obviously, it worked for her.

  12. It wouldn't happen she probably has the birth control pill or she could get an abortion which is legal in our free country.

  13. Well you asked the question, and you have the answers right here.

And some of them are pretty disgusting.

'First we would have had to try to rule out Bill as the father.'

'The question would have immediately been asked if the baby was her dad's. It would not have mattered to most people. I mean they came into the white house from Arkansas so there were no particularly lofty expectations.'

To be expected from some Cons, I suppose.

  14. Keep Chelsea out of this.

If it is a private family matter, how do you know that they are "kind" and "supportive" in private?  Yes, this is the "public" statement.  She's a politician.  What did you expect her to say: "I'm throwing the sl*t out."  Could she really have said anything else and remain viable as a candidate?

Answer me this: Is this wedding coming up between Bristol and Levi her idea, or her mother's?  I smell "shot-gun" wedding.  That is not supportive.

  15. It is a private Family matter. End of story. If someones daughter or son at 17  is having a baby ,does that make the parent a bad person? bd

  16. The Republicans would have had a feast.

  17. Burned at the stake heck the repubs in this post making the case for us questioning if it's Bill's baby. WTF the repubs just don't get how hypocritcal this all makes them look.

  18. The Republicans would have tried to burn her at the stake.

  19. I think they have gone on a rampage of hatred and name calling. Thank goodness Chelsea is such a good girl and did not cave in to carnality and lust.

  20. Yes.  Just like they did when Britney Spear's 15 year old sister was found to be pregnant.

  21. People were HORRIBLE to Chelsea, mostly about her looks. As a "neocon" myself, I think whether it is Chelsea, Palin's daughter, or anyone else' s children including Obama (who I can't stand) it's totally off limits.

Now if you want to talk about Bill's penchant for staining dresses or Edward's love of 3am meetings at the Beverly Hotel or Obama's complete fluff campaign, terrorist friends, loose $$ dealings and Muslim past.... those things are fine.

  22. I very much doubt it. During the Clinton administration, the right wing foaming at the mouth. They would have wet themselves if that had happened.

Which reminds me, McCain told a joke about Chelsea being ugly.

  23. Interesting.  I guarantee that it wouldn't have been so kindly received.

That's politics though.  I would have been nicer about Chelsea than I'm feeling about Bristol.  Par for the course.

  24. The question would have immediately been asked if the baby was her dad's. It would not have mattered to most people. I mean they came into the white house from Arkansas so there were no particularly lofty expectations.

  25. In fairness, what does Chelsea Clinton have to do with this? Or Bush's daughters? Or LBJ's daughters, or Nixon's daughters, or, or, or?

But since you ask, I think everyone would have been kind about this situation.

Now let's get back to the issues.

Palin took a hard line on this question in 2006 from the conservative Eagle Forum Alaska:

Q: Will you support funding for abstinence-until-marriage education instead of for explicit s*x-education programs, school-based clinics, and the distribution of contraceptives in schools?

SP: Yes, the explicit s*x-ed programs will not find my support.

Palin also opposes abortion in cases like her daughter's, and in harder cases.

"We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby," she and her husband said in a statement. Unsaid in the statement is that Palin, based on her past views, would prefer that her daughter not be given a choice.

  26. Chelsea Clinton wouldn't have gotten pregnant at 17 because her mom, Hillary, would have had the "right talk" with her and took her to her GYN to get on the pill immediately and then demonstrated to her how to put on a condom using a "banana".

  27. Of course not.  They would've crucified her.  But at least we'd know that Bill and Hillary would support their daughter's right to make the decision for herself concerning whether to bring a child into the world at age seventeen.  Who thinks Palin's daughter has that choice?
