  1. SWEENEY TODD is offered through Music Theatre International; you can request licensing information at http://www.mtishows.com/show_home.asp?id...

The only references I've found to a stage production of NBC are either illegal (non-authorized) productions or lip-sync versions by school kids.  Disney owns the rights, and at least through the end of 2005 no one apparently had gotten permission to do a stage version.  Trust me--do not mess with the Disney people and performance rights--they take their ownership very seriously.

  2. The rights costs are usually a percentage of your box office gross - the percentage is less for school and amateur productions.  When you apply for the performing licence you'll have to send them all sorts of information like how many the venue seats, how many nights you're performing, how much you're charging for tickets etc and roughly what you expect to take at the box office.  MTI (who own the licence for Sweeney) are pretty helpful people to deal with.

  3. wait. nightmare before christmas turned into a stage show?!?!?! when did this happen?!?! and i imagine sweeney would be outrageously expensive! no joke.
