My family is considering going in early January & i have found an activity that includes kayaking & snorkeling. Would it be too cold for that then?

  1. in January i would expect it to be perfectly warm. when i went to teh Caribbean  in January, the sea was always warm, even after dark, whereas in the artificial pools got cold after 5 pm.

  2. Water temperature should be nice enough for a swim or whatever.  I've been to Nasau in January and the weather is nice and warm.

  3. It really depends what kind of front is coming through. We were in Grand Bahama Island one year and it was 50 degrees in February.

The average air temp is 77 degrees in the Bahamas in January.

Sea surface temperature normally vary  between 74°F in February and 83°F in August.

The water could be a bit chilly with out a wetsuit. I prefer to travel to Bahamas anytime after February. But that's me, I like my water temp at least 75 degrees or warmer.

    Good Luck)

  4. Average water temperatures

    24° C = 75° F Winter

    27° C = 80° F Spring

    31° C = 88° F Summer
