Think about all the grand slam finals he's been in. Would the runner up have won? Would someone else? All opinions are welcome

  1. The world wouldnt change ! lol However it would be very very strange, i mean he`s roger federer!!! Tennis wouldnt be the same without him.... at least Rafa would still be there :) !

  2. the world will be a better place

  3. Tennis wouldn't be the same without Roger or Rafa :)

They've both brought so much to tennis :D

Even without Novak tennis would be strange lol

  4. Nadal would have been number 1 two years ago.

  5. the tennis world without the grand master? hm.. a lot different but we wouldn't know the difference :) probably rafa and andy would win more titles

  6. The tennis world would not know what true dominance is like, considering the fact that he held the No. 1 spot for 256 consecutive weeks

  7. well, we'll never know.-

but even though my andy would probably have a few wimblys and us opens, and so would other players, we wouldn't have had got the chance to see how great he is.-

  8. agassi, nadal, roddick would've had more slams

  9. Well Andy Roddick would have certainly had a much better career than he has had. He would have held the number one ranking throughout 2004/2005 and 2006, and he would have won Wimbledon, The Australian Open and The US Open a couple times already. I believe he would have been the dominant man on the tour this decade.

Nadal would have taken over the number one raking from Roddick and would have win the French Open every year since 2005, which he has done, and he would have at least two Wimbledon titles by now. I believe Richard Gasquet would have a couple Grandslams by now especially Wimbledon, and been to a couple more Grandslam finals in his career. He most likely would have held the number one rankingas well, and would have been Roddick's main rival, that is until Nadal emerged on the scene.

Also, perhaps David Nalbandian and Nikolay Davydenko would be Grandslam Champions as well. And Andre Agassi would have most certainly won the 2005 US Open, and who knows, maybe that win would have motivated him to halt his retirement plans and continue playing. LOL

Sampras would have most certainly gone on to win his eight Wimbledon Championship in 2001 and I believe his record of 14 Grandslams might have been extended to at least 17 Grandslams.

After Sampras retired, I believe the next era would have been more dominated by Marat Safin and Lleyton hewitt for a while, but then Roddick would have taken over completely for a couple years, winning Wimbledon and the US Open in back-to-back years.

  10. he has definitely set some high standards which makes players like nadal and djokovic work extra hard to catch up in ranking.  so much attention is given to a payer who has beat him, bec it doesnt happen all the time.  that's why nadal is extra special!

  11. The world wouldn't b exactly the same at all. I wouldn't be the same- I wouldn't of started playing tennis and my life wouldn't be revolved around it. Theres alot of UNICEF work he has done, so there is actually alot of people's lives Fed has changed for the better with his heavy work in charity. Mirka's life would of been a whole lot different (not that thats charity, hehe) :)

Sporting related, tennis would never of seen possibly the greatest of all time, Sampras would be relaxing on his laurels, Nadal would be considered the greatest player of our generation for sure. And alongside the greatest sportsman, Tiger Woods, there would be noone else! You know how they always say dominance like Tiger Woods and Roger Federer.... well there is noone else like it in any sport apart from swimming, and Phelps has only just become a household name.

Having said that, Federer said if he didn't play tennis he would of played soccer... so maybe Switzerland would have a good soccer team:)

  12. The world would be exactly the same.

  13. the world would be rulled by me.. Roger Federer Jr.

  14. Hahahaha wow good question!!

Hmmm if Federer never played tennis:

    a) Sampras would have dominated the game for a couple of more years, and probably won Wimbledon 2001.

    b) We would have NEVER seen the Wimbledon 2008 final. :(

    c) We would have missed some amazing amazing amazing matches.

    d) Other players would have won fourteen Grand Slams between them.

There's so much more! Federer has been important for tennis, and I don't think I can imagine the game without him.

  15. More varied, but not as good. I love the rivalry between him and Rafa.
