ok i have an appaloosa P.O.A and i want to breed her to a Fresian.. hes just your typical fresian, beautiful big and black.. what would this cross end up looking like??

  1. Don't even think about it.  The mare should be near the same size or larger than the stud (a little smaller is OK, but not that much), otherwise you will end up with birthing issues and maybe even lose your mare due to the large size of the foal.  You could cross a male POA with a female Friesian, but should never do it the other way around.  You would likely get a foal intermediate in size, either black or Appy spotted.

    Add: It does not matter how large the stud is NOW, it's the adult size.  Do NOT breed that stud to your mare, you'll likely end up with a deal foal, dead mare, or both.
