Teens, and people in you early 20's, what would u bring with you when you evacuated? There is a high chance of my house being messed up in Hurrican Gustav, and dont know what I will be able to see again, what would you bring? I have a 2 hour drive to evacuate, so I need stuff for the car, and stuff to wait out 3 or 4 days. Also I may be gone longer than that. I need stuff to entertain myself because there will not be anyone my age there, (a bunch of younger kids) and the adults wont want to talk to me. What should I bring? Websites with prinatble quiz, fun reading articles, and other things would be very much appreciated! Thank-you and God Bless!

  1. mmm..

well, no, i'd make it possible.

  2. well im in my early 20's and i lost my house once from Katrina so now i know what is important to bring heres what im taking:

as for everything else i am putting the things i really want but are not of value or importance in big plastic tubs with lids and moving them into my closets because there are no windows and i have 2 big walk ins

*also because of robbers i would bring anything of value (laptops, camera, ipods) with you or hide them in a safe location so that if you are safe they wont steal it

  5. Important papers like birth certificates etc. Photos, computer, personal memory stuff, and some clothes. I hope your house and your family will be ok. You'll be in our prayers!

  6. Nothing. I'd stay. I'd really just want to die.

  7. I would just pack up your room and much as your can.

  8. Bring a big duffell bag or a small duffel bag.

PAck it with the following: Toothbrush/Toothpaste, Soap, Shampoo/Conditioner, Phone and charger, a portable game system (NIntendo DS, gameboy) and games and charger, PHOTOS!, and important documents you want to keep, if you have a laptop, bring it even though it probably wont work since its expensive and has important stuff on it, coloring book and pencils, a journal!

  13. Bring all of your photo's ! I know if anything happened to my house i would want to have all my photos !

Also bring anything that is special to you, and that has lot's of memories in it. I'd bring a suitcase of clothes (toothbrush ect) and such stuff like that too, just in case you have to stay someone else for a long time.

Also maybe things that are kind of expensive or stuff you could bring in the car like an ipod

  14. Well, for entertainment I'd fill my ipod or mp3 player with the most music I could. And charge it well. Then, a car charger for the ipod or mp3 player would be great too.

Portable game systems, and their charger.

    Dvd player, and movies.

Your phone should be fully charge at all times, just in case. Car charger and normal charger too.

Markers, crayons, glue, ribbons, pencils, paper. Any materials that you can use for any crafts you might want to do.

Coloring books are always tons of fun!

If you like to read, get a couple of good books that you can read.

This website has lots of car games and more. Some of them are for younger people, but you can always keep the kids entertained with some of them. :]

I couldnt find sites for print out activities, I suggest you buy a crossword book, a Mad Libs book or something along those lines. Their not real expensive, and entertaning.

Magazines, buy a few magazines to bring along!

Songs! Singing can make you happier in a time like this.

    ALSO:

Make sure, you board up your house with plywood and such. It can lessen the chance of your stuff getting ruined. [Inside]

Bring food, in cans and non-perishable food basically. Water, of course.

    Important papers, and documents.

    Money.

Photos, memory items, things that have sentimental value.

    Clothes.

Pets, pet food, etc. [ If you have pets]

    Blankets, pillow, etc.

Anything that would be difficult to replace, that fits in your car.

If i think of more I will edit and post..

Take a picture of your house before you leave, that way you when you come back you'll have a reference to what it's supposed to look like.

God bless your family and you.
